Christina Valo
Christina is thrilled to be working among the talented production crew and cast of Monna Vanna. She has stage managed such productions as The Miss Firecracker Contest, Fools, and Big City Rhythm. Favorite acting roles include Audrey in Little Shop, Festes in Twelfth Night, Jackie O in The House of Yes, April in Company, and Ruby in Getting Out. She can currently be seen performing as Hero with East LA Classic Theatre’s production of Much Ado About Nothing. She also serves as a board and company member for From the Ground Up Theatre. Christina is a proud member of Actor's Equity.
Bryant Romo
Bryant Romo was born and raised in Arcadia, California. He decided to attend Brown University to study Political Science, American History, explore the Theatrical Arts, and play baseball. Upon graduating from Brown University, he extended his studies and enrolled in the London Academy of Theater, where he studied Shakespeare extensively. Inspired by the Bard, he flew home to pursue a career as an actor. He has been seen on Days of Our Lives, in Claritin print ads, as well as running the boards in numerous Shakespearean productions around Los Angeles.
Daniel Jensen
Daniel is pleased to be working with the talented cast and crew of Monna Vanna. Although fairly new to the Los Angeles stage, Daniel has been busy working throughout Orange County and Arizona for the last 5 years. After earning his B.S. in Theatre with a Performance Emphasis from Northern Arizona University, Daniel has graced the stage as Antiphilous of Syracuse in Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, Edgar Linton in a stage adaptation of Wuthering Heights, Borachio in Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing and Ernie Cusack in Neil Simon's Rumors, just to name a few. Daniel would like to thank the cast and crew for their talents, his family and friends for their never-ending support and the audience for their support of the arts. He hopes that you enjoy the show as much as he enjoys performing it!
Stephan Smith Collins
Stephan Smith Collins is honored to take part in this momentous resurrection of Maeterlinck’s brilliant and beautiful masterpiece. Monna Vanna is Mr. Smith Collins’ Los Angeles debut. Previous roles include Pedro in San Francisco Playhouse’s Man of La Mancha; Joe Josephson in Merrily We Roll Along with TheatreWorks; Hot Blades Harry in Urinetown, The Musical with San Jose Stage Company as well as appearances in The Bracebridge Dinners (2005, 2006) and Steve Silver’s Beach Blanket Babylon. Film credits include Finn Taylor’s Darwin Awards with Winona Ryder and Joseph Fiennes; The Crate, directed by Sam Burbank; Rubberneck (winner of the Silver Remi at the Houston Worldfest); 832 and Broken Arrows with Lori Petty. On television, he portrayed legendary pilot Dick Rutan and Leonardo da Vinci in The History Channel’s Man, Moment, Machine (M3) and Jay on ABC TV’s crime drama The Evidence. William Greeley
William Greeley (Trivulzio on Saturday matinees) has recently played Falstaff in Merry Wives of Windsor, Ragueneau in Cyrano de Bergerac and Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, among many other roles. In addition to acting, he has written plays that were produced in summer stock and Off-Off Broadway in New York City. He also wrote comedy for syndicated radio morning shows. He received his BA in Theatre Arts from California State University, San Bernardino and went through UCLA's Professional Program in Screenwriting. He was a Chinese linguist in the United States Air Force, his modest contribution to the Cold War effort.
Robin Field
Robin Field (Marco) won leading roles Off-Broadway in Your Own Thing, Look Me Up, Speed Gets the Poppys and the revival of Rodgers & Hart's Babes in Arms. He also toured the U.S. and Canada in his own one-man show Reason in Rhyme, based on Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism, and he wrote, directed and starred in seven editions of Broadway — A Hundred Years Ago. For five years he served as creator and host of the New York radio series "Broadway Time Capsule" and for two years as editor and publisher of Revival, a magazine on theatrical history. He and his singing partner Bill Daugherty won rave reviews throughout the U.S. as well as in London and Amsterdam, and won four MAC awards for “Best Musical-Comedy Team,” and their show Daugherty & Field Off-Broadway was nominated for a New York Outer Critics’ Circle Award as “Best Musical Revue.” In regional productions, he played Axel in Woody Allen's Don't Drink the Water, Beverly Carlton in The Man Who Came to Dinner, Captain Keller in The Miracle Worker, Frederick in The Pirates of Penzance, Ko-Ko in The Mikado, Schultz in Cabaret, Judge Wargrave in Ten Little Indians and Mark Twain in Mark Twain in Concert.
Matt Frieberg
Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Matt Frieberg had planned on an illustrious career as a professional baseball player. However, after a trip to the Czech Republic in 1998, he discovered his gift for acting and began his acting career. In 1999, Matt put his college education and persuit of acting on hold to enlist in the US Army for two years as a 19D Cavalry Scout in Kentucky and Kansas. He received an honorable discharge in May 2001, but after that tragic day on September 11, 2001, Frieberg decided to re-enter the military as an officer. He received his commission and a B.A. degree in Theatre from California State University, Fullerton in 2004 and shipped out to the US Army helicopter flight school at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. 1LT Frieberg is currently serving in the California Army National Guard as a commissioned officer and pilots the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter. Monna Vanna is Matt's long awaited return to the stage since graduating college three years ago. He is very excited to not only participate in this wonderful production with such an incredibly talented cast and crew as an actor but also debut as an assistant stage manager. He can also be seen in current commercials for Xbox's "Halo 3 - Believe" and "Mercury Insurance", along with several feature length and short films.
Joel Bryant
Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joel Bryant attended La Cueva High School (former students include: Neil Patrick Harris, Freddie Prinze, Jr., Terri Conn and Tony Vincent). He started acting at the age of 11, doing stand-up when he was 14, and began improv training at 16. After winning Outstanding Actor at the New Mexico Theatre Festival, he was offered a theatre scholarship from Pepperdine University. He headed west and graduated magna cum laude in three years with a B.A. in acting. Among his numerous theatre highlights, he has garnered glowing reviews all over L.A. (Knightsbridge Theatre, Hudson Theatre, and The Next Stage) and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Texas Shakespeare Festival and a variety of regional theatres throughout the Southwest, including the world premiere of Terminal Cafe with Neil Patrick Harris. His favorite roles include Iago (Othello), John (Oleanna), Francis Begbie (Trainspotting), and any number of characters he's played in any number of versions of A Midsummer Night's Dream's he's done. His film credits cover a wide variety as well. From studio films (The Heartbreak Kid [Ben Stiller, Michelle Monaghan], Music Within [Ron Livingston, Michael Sheen]) to indie hits (Loaded, Long-Term Relationship, Gone, But Not Forgotten) and a number of festival award-winners. On TV, you've seen him in over 20 national commercials, or on Monk, Las Vegas, E-Ring, or as a regular cast member on TBS' Cut To The Chase. Trained in improv at the L.A. Connection (Best Newcomer in 2001) and currently at The Groundlings, Joel is a co-founder and member of the award-winning improv duo Composte Comedy Heap (www.ComposteComedyHeap.com) with Deven Green, with whom he has toured colleges and clubs all over the U.S., with headlining gigs at The Comedy Store, The Icehouse, The Ha Ha Club, Martini Blues, the Venetian in Las Vegas, the Chi Chi Club on Catalina Island, all over L.A. and San Diego, a week of sold out shows at the San Francisco Fringe Festival and won the Best of the Fest at the International Hollywood Comedy Festival. They have also opened for Eddie Griffin, Paul Rodriguez, and Andrew Dice Clay. Since starting stand-up comedy at the age of 14, he has performed in such places as The Comedy Store, The Icehouse, The Improv, Laff's, and many clubs in between.
Emily Wing
Born in New York City and raised in Austin, Texas, Emily Wing has studied acting at The Circle in the Square (NYC), BADA in London, and holds a BFA in acting from Carnegie Mellon University. She recently moved to Los Angeles from New York City where she was often seen onstage and was a founding member of The Immediate Theatre Company. Her stage credits include: The Blue Room, Midsummer Night's Dream, Would You Lie to Me? Please? Some of her TV/Film credits include: Law & Order, The Stepford Wives, All My Children, In Justice, and As the World Turns. She is so happy to return to the theatre in such a marvelous play.
